Ben, I was giving a general example.
My point is, the schedule is SET typically at the beginning of the year, and groups have already reserved the track. There is no way for a licensed body to come along and just say "Hey, I want your date" and have whoever has reserved the date be booted (a properly sanctioned body like a PCA or BMW driver's club event for example). The dates are usually set in stone by this time of year (the first SCCA HPDE was last weekend!), so for us to be booted sounds more like we never had anything set in stone to begin with (and more why I would have perfered for us to piggy bank another sanctioned group).
Big buck racers typically like to see a schedule sorted by the first month of the year to get everything in order, ESPECIALLY considering the months of November to March are the BUSIEST car prep months, and to not have a schedule to work against early enough, makes things extremely difficult.
Simple as that! It would have saved us an immense amount of upfront cash, planning and coordination, in addition to the majority of the behind the scene work be already handled.
All I am saying is, there are more than one ways to skin a cat. We just chose the wrong method.........
If we were already firmly in the schedule, they are NOT booting us........unless we were not.
My 0.02cents..........
