How much would the Kart day be if we wind up doing that? More or less than the track day? Would we be responsible for any gear like helmets or is all that pizzaz included in the Karting fee?

It would be less (around $100.00)

Renting out the outdoor go-kart track is going to cost about the same as renting Nelson Ledges.

Fuckit lets just get together buy Nelson Ledges and call it SR20 Heaven. I will move to Ohio and Run it!!
Build a dragstrip next to it called the DEEPstrip

Seriously, this is really tragic as far as historic tracks go. Places like that need to be kept alive for racing history's sake,IMO.
I could feel the history at that place seeping into my bones as we looked at old pics and how beaten the pavement was.
If someone got ahold of that track and repaved it and freshened up the facilties a bit,it could be a great track again.
I hope the post @Kyle made rings true and the Kriders get us back on track by the convention as planned.

Thanks for the support guys.

I spoke with Pitt Race yesterday about the karting facility and this afternoon should have the final info on it all. I will post up a new thread with details and before we give it a go I need the support of the community.

To all the people who have already paid for the track day I will be contacting you all this evening via PM.

Again thanks for the support.

The track was going to shit back in 2009 when I last drove there so I can only imagine how bad it is now!

My apologies if I offended anyone.

We are all upset and our emotions sometimes make us make remarks that may not be the best for the situation.
Wasn't my intension to piss anyone off.

Thx

There is a local group trying to do that right now. I'm not sure how much success they will have with the current ownership. Then the trouble comes with the EPA and all the requirments there.

Well, if someone were to accidentally open the doors and have a joy ride with 20+ other guys around a track, would that be wrong?

I'm all for karting. I'll keep my money in the pot for that. This is all a big bummer, not just for us but for the downfall of Nelson ledges as well. Thank you Rob, Lou and Mark for having to deal with this! You guys are appreciated more than you know. Whatever happens, the convention will be a huge success. And it looks like everyone will get to meet my new SE-R.
