Pittrace would be awesome if we could afford it, but it was close to double what NL costs to rent the last time I checked.

I'll chime in more later when I'm not on my phone.

I remember discussing with Reed the condition of the facilities back in 2012. He and the crew there were not happy with the owner. The owner is an old guy (in his 80's) that basically doesn't want to put a dime into the facility. I guess things finally came to a head. What a shame.

I recieved a call on Monday from a friend who mentioned that he heard through the rumor mill that there was some management issues at Nelsons. I called my contact Kerrie Lane who has been working at Nelsons since the begining of time. The owner of the track without notifying Kerrie or Scott Lane leased the land to another so-called track manager names Todd K. who honestly has zero knowledge on how to manage a track. With that being said I just got off of a phone call and this person mentioned to me that Todd K. was also fired per say. So as of now Nelson Ledges has zero manager and zero staff because the staff walked when Kerrie and Scott were dismissed.

So in a nut shell the track is shut down. It has nothing to do with surface or any other jazz. Simply there is not one person at the moment to run the facility. This has not only affected us but, many other huge groups with a high end budget.

As for Pitt Race we simply can not afford to rent their track. Our group at the moment can not fund that. So the Plan B is to rent out the kart track for the day at Pitt Race. I am working out details to figure out a cost and time line for this with their track manager. It really is the only option we may have so let me see what we can do.

I know this may not jive with everyone but, we are one month away with almost zero options. I can not begin to explain the level of stress this has created. So again I ask everyone to please be patient as we attempt to sort this out.

Thanks.

Karting sounds great. See if we can rent the track for the day.

Cost of Nelson Ledges rental versus Pitt Raceway rental? More than twice the price? What kind of a gap would we be trying to cover?

Nelson Ledges total cost for the full day was $4026 and that was because we were coming back a second time. Pitt Race is double the cost litteraly. As of now we only had 15 people pay and that didn't cover the cost of Nelsons. So with that being said we can't afford Pitt Race. I will not put that stress on myself of gathering that type of money.

Now the National Level kart track may work. That is within our budget. I am waiting on final details before I present this to everyone..

The organizing of these Conventions with zero budget to start with is massively difficult. It's a rob peter to pay paul type of deal.

That is the idea Hank... This kart track is unreal. I have raced it a few times.

Guys please understand we are trying out hardest to make this good. It is a very overwhelming feeling when you are one month away from something that has taken a lot of effort and time to put together and to see a key component of it be taken away with zero control over it.

I am sure the masses here understand Rob, as this is all DEFINITELY out of you and the organizers hand, so don't sweat it! Not your fault in the least and no one here has any reason to be upset with you folks

What a bummer. I hate the idea of an SR20 convention with not track time, but I also understand it's out of your control.

If there really is no track day, I might just fly out there instead. No point in bringing my car. On a bright note, I may be able to get away with 2 less days vacation time from work if I'm not driving.

Don't sweat it Rob. When you're given lemons, you make lemonade. I actually think karting might be just as good. It might even be better in some respects. Everybody can run, even the folks that are flying in and folks who are otherwise wouldn't be running their car. We did it at the CT convention and had a blast.

The other thing is we can really race and not play race, as one does in DE. Bring on the lemonade!
