Actually, that happened right here at my home race track Summit Point Raceway two summers ago at Hyperfest in a Corvette. He was very lucky as the visor was open (alot of people like to track with the visor up for cooling reasons, including myself from time to time).

But yet, when I get on some people on here about helmet and track safety, I get yelled at, called names and told to shut up.................

In addition to "things/bodies" coming through the windshield, as the above video illustrates...there's also the side windows to think about. Unlike drag racing, the side windows are required to be down at most tracks. One trip through the gravel trap at speed, will convince you a full face is a good idea. Some of those pebbles will be coming at you like they came out of a shotgun. Don't ask me how I know this...
