For a road course I would suggest Hankook RS-3.

Bfg rival and dunlop direeza 2 outperform in almost every review I have read.

I bought a set of these last spring for Panda. I have near 25k miles on them including 3 track days so far. They will last thru this summer as far as I can tell, likely well over 30k. Great in the wet and quite good in dry weather as well. I will likely buy another set for Black Gee when her current tires wear out, can't give much better of a review than that.

I'm speaking from experience. I had rs-3's and now running bfg's on the b14. Can't speak for dunlops though.

I think you need to define "budget". I consider the Rivals I purchased, a budget track tire.

I can only comment on their street performance at this point. Both wet and dry, they're frickin awesome! The Convention will be my first track experience with them.

plans have changed not running in the event will be watching though..

X2 on the dunlop direzza 101 , great tire for the money nand handles very well
