there we go again with the blow up thing. hahaha Stupid.

And yeah, those big n/a cars blow up all the time. You know what kinda strain is on that 2.7L K series to rev it to 11k? They blow and to say they dont is pretty dumb. Those guys push the limit at all time.

boosting my shit till she blows...call it what you want, but I want to know for a fact what the factory bottom end will hold. Gotta know what the weak points are to strengthen them.

Just like to bust Ashton's balls...what's left of them anyways.

I watched that dss car make pass after pass after pass at Mir during WCF, and they never turned a wrench on it...when I asked them how long they had that engine in the car they said it was from last season, only a new head gasket before the current season...when your shit is done right usually have little to no issues

My buddy tony had a 1300+ whp engine in GN for 6 years, all he ever did was change plugs and oil, and he revs it to 10k JS

Yeah well when you have an endless budget and endless supply of aftermarket better parts its quite easy to do every single little thing right. I wanted to race and really the only thing I cut it short on was the factory crank pulley instead of the ATI. Who knows if that would have saved the bearing from spinning or not. Nobody will know.

Yeah when something is done right with all the "proper" parts it can last a long time, but ive also seen teams with 25k dollar K series motor in that same all motor street class absolutely destroy the motor in the burnout box not even making one pass on a fresh motor. It happens, it happens all the time, even when the best is used. Anything can happen. Most of those k's love to drop valves and thats a known issue with them, no matter really what you do. One little flaw or overlook and your pretty much asking for it. I watched that same team throw another engine in and destroyed the next one after 2 passes. Thats an expensive night at the strip but hey, its part of the game. Ive just come to realize it.

Mine is going back to a daily driveable setup, still should make some insane power but things are gonna be simple and while still "unorthodox" it will last just like my last simple setup did. No need to rev high, the turbo im using will give me a nice fat powerband and more than enough power to still possibly get that record if all goes well. But yet simple enough to drive as a daily and not worry about it.

100% Agree. A local guy that has a simple 1.8lt vtec engine thinks he is KING as he does 12s all motor on ahonda civic eg hatchback that has being on weight reduction since he bought it.. all plastic instead of cristal, holes everywhere, no dashboard, etc (you get the idea)... to be able to do 12's low he uses a "75hp" NOS shot... and he always talked BS about how reliable was his NA Honda compared to ours turbo... last 3 times he has gone to track, 3 times he has blown his engine.. last time 'cause he revved it up to 10000 rpms... rods broke and BOOM!!!

So being NA not necesary means it will last longer that a turbo but it means you won't have as much fun as when being turbo
