I don't know what standard tech requirements include, they follow NHRA guidelines. While there may be some room for interpretation, the faster your car is (and let's face it these guys will have a pretty good idea as to how fast you will be) the stricter they are likely to be. The last thing they want is for an incident where someone can come back and blame them for allowing unsafe conditions on the track.
