I agree, full face all the way. A trip through the gravel trap slideways convinced me.
The deer issue at Summit is more common than most people know. A karter died there a few years ago after hitting one. They also have woodchucks there will bust the crap out a splitter. I'm just wondering if there's any connection to all of the roadkill there and their 100mph chili.
Santa's Toy Run yesterday at AMP was a blast. You do not want to miss out on this track folks. Kimme was taking pictures at turn one during several afternoon sessions, here is a sampling:
15 minutes of the afternoon session, starts at about 2/3 of the warm up lap. Every session had the first lap as full couse yellow before going green for balance of session.
Some things to be aware of:
- Track has F1 style red/yellow/green lighting system.
- Lighting system also flashes blue to slower cars to help newbies realize they have faster cars approaching.
- Instead of cones they use turn in (TI) , apex (A), and turn out (TO) signs which were a big help. Overall very cool stuffs!
- You will NEED good brakes if you want to run fast and stay on track. Not necessarily big brakes, but definitely good pads and fresh fluid.
- Morning and afternoon sun is noticeable and in your eyes at various points because of all the elevation changes. This video was shot somewhere between 3 and 4 pm. Local sunset on Sunday was around 5:30ish.
