If Savannah is no longer an option have you considered having the convention in Jacksonville. Pooler and Roebling road is 2 hours to the north. Jacksonville has lots of cheap hotels, nice restraunts and a nice beach. If you really must have a 1/4 mile track Gainesville Raceway is an hour and a half to the south west.

Hmmmm join date of June 2012? LOL.

pimpm3, the community (this year's convention + questionnaire) has spoken. I'm not sure why you're fighting that.

I've done that actually and it's quite fun, it's like a "super" autocross!

Well, he did join Saturday so he could make that post and straighten us misguided souls out.

And from my conversations running an 1/8 mile vs 1/4 mile drag track would be more like running an autocross vs a road course. That turned the lights on for me

I'm down for any road racing and drag racing. Hell, I'll even run the Tundra.

First off just because I joined this forum recently doesn't mean I am a noob. I have been on the other forum for 10 years, and just took the time to join this one saturday.

I went to the convention in Savannah in 2009 and it was a very nice event. I think it is sad that this venue is no longer viable because the only nearby drag racing track is 1/8 mile long. I guess that was the point I was trying to make and I appologize if I came off as a dick with my initial post.

How was the turn out last time in Savannah compared to other conventions, it is the only one I have attended?

It depends on the individual. I enjoyed them both, but Cleveland was by far better for me than Savannah.

maybe someone can contact the 1/8 mile and see if they have enough runoff room to set the track up to be temporarily 1/4mi?
