I don't know about you guys, but I'm not too fond of driving 1600+ miles and spending over $1K in expenses to eat at a Waffle house/truck stop every day I'm there. Don't even get me going on what it would be like to find Crown Royal for Cliffy.

^^^agree. But that's an easy opinion for me 'cause I think drag racing is B-O-R-I-N-G.

Seriously, I've never been to one drag event during a convention. Track day is where it's at.

Whats can get boring is when you are at a road course event and only get to see the cars pass you 1 time every 3-4 minutes. At least with drag racing you can watch the race to its entirety is more fast paced. There was never a drag day at the convention before because it was being put on by a road course organization. Drag racing is just as big, if not bigger than road racing on this forum. I feel the drag day brought more people to the convention then the road course, in fact I know for a fact it did. There has to be a drag day, there is no question. If you were at last years convention you would have known how fun it actually was.

my personal opinion..a drag day on a well prepped 1/4 mile track is mandatory, and should not be up for negotiation. just my $0.02 tho

Guys do not turn this into a drag vs road racing arguement... There will be both at the Convention.

and the only comments I'm seeing agaist the drag day are from individuals who didn't attend this year's drag event who wouldn't truly understand how important it is.

Like Rob said, there will be both.

True. We have a kick ass location in savannah for a kick ass price. Why screw it up? I think it's time for a vote

Closest drive time is to Darlington Dragway because it is 165 miles up I-95 instead of all 2 lane roads like anything else. Best guess is that it would still be at least 2.5 hours away. The powers that be have another conference call tonight, but there is no easy fix on the horizon. Splitting the distance between Roebling and any of the 1/4 mile tracks leaves us camping in tents in a big field. To make the convention a positive experience for the entire group may mean we need to look in another direction.

ugh that sucks. im all for making it in ohio every year
