Hi. My name is Raul and I'm a Conventionholic.

I find myself looking at this thread every hour or so hoping that there will be news as to where the next convention will be held. Told a few of the guys out here how much fun this last event was and I might be recruiting more Californians for the next one. We are getting a few cars ready but want to know how far we're traveling. So with that being said, HURRY THE FUCK UP AND PICK A PLACE ALREADY! jk guys.

Of course I would be down for Ohio Again, but yes hotel (as nice as it was!) would have to change for us. I wish there was a closer road course to me, as it's a little town with a nice holiday on the outskirts with a BIGG parking lot. Norwalk is 20mins away and a nice park around for the car show and picnic right on the river. Cedar Point is also 20 mins away and only 45 mins to downtown cleveland. Nelson Ledges i about hr and half though.

As well, I don't care about traveling to another state. I will def. not try to miss one of these again.

A bunch of us were walking around trying to hand out the name tags we had. I know Sarah had a crap ton of them and yours was one of them. I commented on wondering if you were there since we had never met... You should have been more social and perhaps you would have gotten it....

Jordan is a very cool guy. He wasn't able to show up until Saturday night late. Anyway, I saw Sarah walking around w/ a few unclaimed badges. Jordan's was one of them. I grabbed Jordan's knowing I'd see him sooner or later (he lives near me). I then grabbed a sharpie and wrote my name on it since I didn't have one (you see, Sharpie's are only permanent until you introduce denatured alcohol). On Sunday Jordan showed up at the picnic to find me sporting his modified name badge. I told him I'd mail it to him when I got home and had a chance to unmodify it :-D

Convention in the sticks would be good.
Then we could just rent an entire mom and pop hotel and own the place for the weekend.
Noone to complain if we rent all the rooms.lol

If we're going to consider having it rotate between a few places (Nelson, and Roebling, since they're the most accommodating to the arrive-and-drive, no money up front format), we need to realize that we're losing out on the sightseeing part of the convention, which is a real draw for some people. My first, and only trips to Chicago, Vegas and a number of other cool places have been because of the conventions.

If we can find other arrive-and-drive tracks, that fit our geographical needs, we should put them ahead of Nelson and Roebling.

I know that from talking to him on the forum for years! I am simply bitching because I wanted to meet him. This was one convention where I tried to go our of my way to meet people and I am just pissed I missed him...

Hairspray is your friend in removing Sharpie...
