Caravan Communications Recommendation (CB's)
Some of you are already well aware of this 70's mode of communication and how well it works for communication in caravans. For those of you who are not let me help...

Many of us use CB's to communicate while in caravans. You are probably thinking, "I can't afford or justify the cost of a CB for one or two caravans". And you would be wrong! ;-) A decent CB and antenna can be had for around $70 shipped. And only does it make a great communication tool in caravans but you can also use it on road trips to monitor cop locations, get a heads up on traffic jams so you can reroute and it's a fantastic form of entertainment (those truckers are some funny f*ckers). One saved speeding ticket will pay for itself. It's saved me countless times on family vacation trips. And in conjunction with a GPS and roadmap, I haven't been stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic in years.

Here are the CB and antenna I own. This set-up works fantastic (around 4-5 mile range) and is cheap!

CB...$34 + free shipping

Antenna...$36 + free shipping (yes, the antennas are more than the CB's)

Breaker breaker good buddy!

Awesome! 4-5 mile range too?!

I always thought they were more expensive than that.

I've left my CB days behind me. I know where my radio is, but the antenna and mount I think is long gone.
