That would leave a 2-3 month window for everyone to make reservations and plan the trip out. I think more people will register after this is sorted out

Don't forget a block of rooms need to be reserved a head of time. Unless everyone is going to be staying at separate hotels which would not make sense.

What does knowing the hotel change about making plans? The dates are set. Hotel costs don't go up as day gets closer. Sign up so that we can actually get a group rate at hotel.

The real problem is everybody is all talk and won't commit.

I'm confused, are you suggesting that I sign up or just sayin as a general comment? And yes hotel rates due tend to go up depending on how many rooms are reserved. I'm not concern with a group rate, I just need to know to see if its worth it to stay at a hotel or my moms house in nyc depending on location. Same for the guy who is towing my car.

I am more concern with the main hotel rather then the track hotel.

Lou did sign up. I just haven't had the time (more likely the motivation) to update the attendees page.

There's no "main" hotel... this is it. 15-20 minutes from the track and about 35-40 minutes from Atlantic City. I've gotten ZERO feedback in terms of the person who was handling the carshow. If there is enough of a surge in registration between now and say 5/15 or 5/20 or so, I will take that over and find a location

So if there is not going to be a "central" location for the convention, I think I'll try to find something closer to Philly since that's where I'm planning to go on Saturday. There is an Embassy Suites at the Philly airport about 45 miles from Millville, NJ. How far will it be to the car show if I was to stay near Philly?

General comment. Keep seeing and having to deal with people make silly excuses for stuff.

I've reserved hotels the night before many many times and never seen price go up.... Only thing I've seen are seasonal prices tied with occupancy averages.

I like this idea. Forget staying at some rinky dink hotel for the entire weekend.

This is true, but has nothing to do with what's going on here. it all depends on the hotels and its vacancy. If an event is going on in the area, prices can go up. Better to be safe. I stay in hotels every week for work. Like I said before I'm not concern with price, just location and knowing I have a reserved room in advanced.

Kiren, how many people have registerd? Also Jun said he will contact you about the carshow this week.

Guys I'm just tryin to get the ball rolling.

Joe, if the carshow happens in Atlantic City, I'd expect it to be about an hour and a half maybe a little more. For rough estimate, figure Philadelphia to Atlantic City.

With regard to hotel prices, I don't think they'll go up. However, as time goes by and it gets closer, NASA people will probably eat up some of those rooms so availability will likely go down. But that's not until late June I wouldn't expect.

I can get FANTASTIC group rates no matter the number of rooms, should we choose a Holiday Inn (ICHG) hotel brand. I frequented a hotel at Eatontown in NJ, and they love me to death. I've brought them 100's of thousands of dollars in revenue at their particular hotel. Staybridge Suites of Eatontown. Let me know and I'll call them tomorrow. The sales director will take care of me with the highest priority. Even if not HIS hotel, one closer to the event.

I really like Staybridge Suites. And I have priority points.
