18 Early-Bird registrants
0 Pre-Registration

For all of the buzz and people who have expressed interest, the response so far is lackluster. We will be making a decision in May as to whether or not to go forward with this event. If this event is going to cost us money, there is no way we will continue the planning. I'm on the fence right now as to whether or not I should even contact Nissan/Infiniti and other potential sponsors if there are no attendees.

It's amazing; the support prior to opening registration was strong but now that it's time to put your money where your mouth is, everyone disappears into the woodwork

This is the core crowd. I had hoped to have a strong SE-R representation and thus far the bulk of the registrations are SE-Rs. We opened this up to others though because, as we all know (whether we want to admit it or not), the SE-Rs can no longer sustain a convention. I need help spreading the word to other communities or this convention will not happen. I would be happy if 5% of the people who have viewed this thread registered... only 5%!!!

I understand where your coming from.
i think most people wait till the end to register incase anything comes up.
I havn't paid because I just finish spending quite abit on my b14 and plan on spending more on what I call convention ready.

But we don't want to let what happened in Omaha or Las Vages. Maybe the deadline to register should be sooner, or a cetain amount of people should register every month just ot keep things going forward.

Anyways if need be I'll register a bit earliar then I planned on and hope others will follow.

Registration is CHEAP! I paid for the track day and didn't think too much about the rest yet. But, obviously down payments/holding fees on your part would be pricey.

I will pay tonight.

x2 on registration deadline/quota per week/month.

We DEFINITELY will not let what happened in Omaha happen. That is why we need to give ourselves a deadline. I totally understand people waiting and waiting and waiting... unfortunately if EVERYONE does that, they'll wind up waiting too late and the event will just plain be cancelled

I also don't want to scare people into registering and coming cross-country. It's a few months away but, if we do get to the point of needing to cancel, there is still a NASA track event at NJMP that weekend. We're tossing around ideas but we'll likely offer:

- refunds
- working with those registered and NASA and getting those people registered for Saturday or Sunday (or trying to negotiate a discount for the second day if you guys want)

Ray and I will be at the track that weekend anyway if we wind up cancelling the convention so we'll be there to hang out and we'll just try to find something smaller to do with people on Friday and Sunday. So, if you register and if you're planning on coming and have vacation time planned already, we'll still wind up doing something. It just won't be a full convention involving a "us only" track day and a full car show and picnic and such... it'll be smaller, that's all

At the same time, I do want to thank those who have already paid and are already registered. We really do want to make this work and really do want everyone to have a good time. But that also involved us, as organizers, not to be losing our own personal money. We're just like you guys; broke as h*ll!

With that information, Kimme and I will be there no matter what. Is the NASA event at the same track?

Sorry, yes. NASA NE has taken the track for Friday-Sunday as they usually do. Usually they do an advanced driver day on Friday which is usually real track junkies in the advanced levels and racers looking for additional test/tune time. They've agreed to let us have Friday for the convention but, if we don't have enough interest, we can pretty easily give it back to them. So, if the convention is cancelled, we can pretty easily move you guys over to Saturday or Sunday which is, yes, at the same track at the same facility similar to any other NASA track day. Just you won't know or somehow be linked to EVERYONE on the track. And since Ray and I instruct at just about every NASA NE event, we will be there anyway

Im down to drive out, show up and hang out (kinda like i did at the 09 convention), but im not baller enough to afford the events and get the 6 speed conversion swap parts this year.
dont mean to cry about it , but its $300 in gas to get there and back (if prices dont change... lol) and probably $200 min. in hotel cost.

No, no, we're getting a classy hotel, not a place you have to do by the minute :P
