It's a kickass statement that you can drive a '91 B13 900-1000 miles like I did to GA for the 2009 Conv, run what you brung at the track, no problems. Then hoof it back home Sunday afternoon, with just 4-5 stops and 15-20 min nap a few of those, home to CT - in time to take the kids to school Monday AM at 0630 (was kinda on a schedule there!)

Over 1800 highway miles, a few hundred or so on the track at RR (3+ tanks of gas), back then w/o changing anything, just put gas into the car, checked the oil, coolant, tires. Not bad for an almost 20 year old econobox. That's a road trip!

I road-tripped from Houston to Savannah, 20+ hours, all by myself in a Classic that had been released from two (2) shops early, before it was shaken down after a massive restoration/rebuild.

It was a fun ride both ways. Smile on my face the whole time.

Northern Louisiana to however-far this damn Convention is, I don't care. I'm either towing or more likely driving my Classic. But it will be a road-trip.

Even if it is accurate, I don't appreciate being called a drugged up psycho.

I prefer "drugged up, unstable, and highly volatile."

First, if you are flying, it would be worth looking into Atlantic City as well since sometimes the smaller airports have better deals. From Philly to the track is about an hour and Atlantic City is another 45 minutes beyond that (take a look at a map to see what I'm talking about).

For those looking to fly, don't be discouraged by those hardcore guys that drive everywhere. Sometimes work schedules/vacation days don't work out for you and flying is a better option. Me, personally, I'm too old for the 1000 mile drive each way just for a longish weekend. Too old and too cranky... I just don't like doing that. I'd rather fly, drive a rental, and spend (at least some of) that time hanging out with friends... it's more about the friendships now than it is about the cars.

Lastly, Shawn you might want to redo your mapquest. The convention isn't going to be at Pocono anymore! Put in Millville, NJ or Atlantic City. Should take some time off your trip.

Have you picked out the hotel yet? Trying to decide if a day trip to Philly would be possible for Saturday. We have never been there and there is a bunch of cool historic things to see.

25 miles less, 3 minutes more.

I'm not quite in Shreveport, so it will actually be a bit farther in either case.

Joe, it will definitely be in driving distance. We do not have a hotel picked yet but it will be somewhere in between the track in Millville, NJ and Atlantic City. So, you'd probably be looking at an hour and fifteen to an hour and a half drive to Philly.

There's nothing cool to see in Philly though :P

FYI, for those looking to fly into Atlantic City (ACY), only 2 carriers serve the airport: AirTran directly from Atlanta and Spirit directly from Boston, Orlando, Ft Lauderdale, Tampa & Ft Myers. All are limited service. It may or may not be cheaper to fly into ACY. More airline options at Philly International, especially Southwest.

Joe, there's plenty to do in Philly especially if you're into history. You might need more than a day though to do it.
