Thread: cracked the tranny

yeah that sucked .. do you have it running again yet? did you find a spare transmission?

finally got time to take the tranny off last night. found a spare housing on the other forum and probable just going to swap internals. ( still broke with no cash so this is the cheapest options)

transmission is back in. either something is wrong with the linkage or the gears are messed up because i had to slam it into 5th. she runs and is fine so i'm not going to mess with it again tell i have the effort it do it.

becareful with that "slamming" it into 5th, i had to do that to my B14 tranny just proir to 5th gear giving out on me

thats funny my car sits as we speak i cant keep trannys i just broke number 16 thats right 16 transmissions been in my car now i need another shitty nissans good for nothing crap.

I think you just need to take it easy on the driving dude. Unless that 16 trannies is over a 10 year period there is no way you should be going through trannies like that. In the past 3 years of being boosted ranging from 250whp to 500+whp ive broken 4 gearstacks.

Use a thick oil, my favorite being Valvoline 85w140 and take it easy on the 3rd and 4th gear when shifting.

Yeah ive busted 4, 2 being stock, the other two being a built de, and busting the diff.on a 02p11.

Dont take this the wrong way, but learn how to shift.
