Thread: just blew a head gasket

Well I was taking a cruise tonight and all of a sudden white smoke started to come out the exhaust pipe. The car was studdering a low rpm. I was able to drive the car home since I was close. Went home, opened up the motor and coolant had be overflowing from the coolant reservoir.

Not sure If I am going to be able to take the nissan to the convention.

checked the plugs and the #4 plug was wet.

wet ? what did it smell like ? was it clean or dark ?

oil in the coolant ? coolant in the oil ?

Well if you cant track the car, we can kick it. I will be ridin the sidelines and getting good vids!

if there is oil in the coolant thier isn't very much. The oil seems ok but the dip stick seems to have to much oil. This happen really close by my house.



yea, i'm pretty bumped about it but atleased it didn't happen all the way in Omaha. I'm probably gonna bring the forester

thats a good idea. Gotta check that out. I would really like to take it on the 1/8 mile strip and go against some nissans.

I may take the forester a couple time around the track, but I'm gonna go easy since its a new car, so if you see this white suv in front of you, look for my hand waving you by.

Well, I finally figured out why I have been losing coolant. Blew the head gasket and was burning it off every day. Head is off and on the way to the machine shop. New hg is supposed to be here by 3 pm today. Back together tonite. Nothing like pulling it together at the last minute.
