Rain?
Hey,

10 day forecast looks like it might rain during the convention. If that's true, then what's the plan? How bad can it be raining and the track stay open?

I know we went thru this last year at Roebling. Track management said since we rented the track it was open to us rain or shine. This isn't like baseball where they're afraid to get wet.

I'd run the hell out of my car on a wet track >=]

Just get the right tire, and test your driving skills in the wet!

You're better off learning how to drive in the rain. It separates those who are "fast" because they have a fast car and mash the gas on the straights vs those who can finesse the car around the track quickly.

It'll be even more entertaining in a rental. Let it rain!

But who looks at the 10-day forecast and believes what it says on the 10th day or the 7th or even the 4th?!? They don't know what they're talking about. When we're at Tuesday/Wednesday and they're calling for heavy rain on Friday, then I'd worry about it. That far out changes day to day on the forecast

hehe, maybe I'm more worried because I'm just going to specate. It's going to suck standing in the rain all day

Spectate? It is a double track day for $125 or something. For that price, you could run every other session and still have a great time. Leave the boost low, and get on track and actually enjoy the car. As a minimum, bum as many rides as you can during the day - watching cars on track is boring if you aren't driving (or riding at a minimum).

As far as rain, it is fun in the rain; but it can be pretty un-nerving if the track isn't wide open with tons of run off.

While it sounds great to say, buy the right tires and just go crazy; it isn't that simple since that requires spare wheels (other than just your standard track wheels/tires) and also thinking ahead. Plus, most guys drive to/from the track; so stuffing your car into a berm/tire wall/etc comes more into play. So most good drivers concentrate on good, clean lines and car control.
