I completely understand what you're saying. I can always go back to the registered list and it gives me the names of people attending. But I don't know everyone by their names. If they could have posted maybe a sn and what forum they're from, I wouldn't have asked to start a list.

Just came back from NYC from visiting my grandfather in the hospital. Doctors are saying he may not make it past summer. I still plan on going to Omaha unless I have to go back to New York if he passes. I will register a few weeks before the convention based on his status.

I think just making it out would be good enough. No reason to go balls out on your ride out there and I'm sure you could roomate with a few people. Last convention I took it easy on the track casue I had to drive 18 hours home.

I can promise you that you won't regret coming. Find 2-3 other people and split a room

Sounds like an excellent plan, you really ought to try the track even if you can't go all out. It is a chance you just don't get on the street to see what your car can really do. I know it changed my whole opinion and I liked my B13 a lot before I tracked it. I'm really looking forward to some input in getting the suspension setup this year.

Thanks, Kieran - Your support (as well as that of Joe and the rest of the die-hards) means a lot.

It's no secret, I'm getting my ass kicked on this one. At present, we're losing more money on this event than I care to announce, and that's coming from my checkbook.

The good news is, everyone who registers will get a LOT of track time.

I'm not saying this to whine, I'm saying this to point out that no matter when / where an event is held, and no matter who or what entity funds the event up-front, it's a leap of faith and reflects a commitment to the attendees. There will be those who will attend come hell or high water, there are those who will attend if it's convenient, and there are those who want to be there, but just simply can't.

We're no stranger to putting on events, but as I'm sure Joe and Kieran will agree, it can kinda be a thankless gig...

Here's my position on the matter: I'm MORE concerned that everyone has a great time, and the Convention stays alive and continues on for another decade, than I am with "breaking even".

With that being said, I'm making a PERSONAL request of everyone to please help me make a last-minute push for registrations. Whether you post on another forum, on your FB page, invite a local buddy, notify your local SCCA / NASA chapter, your car club, whatever... I'll be appreciative.

OK, I'm rambling... Sorry for the long post. Looking forward to meeting you all in Omaha, please contact me, Torry or Becky (@nicoclub.com) if you need anything before then.

Travel safe, and I'll see you all there.
