Thread: clutch??

So today while driving my car on the highway up a slight incline. The car acts like i pushed in the clutch , it of course revs slightly. I let off the gas and then press it down and it seems normal .. The shifter didnt move out of 5th but not quite sure..What the hell is this? Its a 97 se-r with the oem clutch I believe.... I thought we werent supposed to get 5th gear popout....

It sounds like your clutch slipped..... 5th gear pop out actually throws 5th out. did it jus start doing this?

Slipping clutch. Try starting from a dead stop in 3rd gear. If the engine revs and the car doesn't move, it is the clutch for sure.

It did it to my wife the other day , she said it popped out of 5th gear.. Just started last week..I thought 97's didnt get popout... The oem clutch has about 160,000 on it .......

lol if the OEM clutch from 97 is still in the car id say its time for a change/upgrade, and the B14s do get pop out, my B14 suffered pop out around 160k on the clock
