anyone have experience with "after market" oem parts. looking at fenders
hello all. aside from the fate of the se-r i am trying to get her back to a cosmetic happy place. i found a local shop to get the dent out the back and now its time to get a fender. i know the driver is tweaked to hell and the passanger has seen better days. so my question is am i better off finding a better one at the junk yard or should i order those ones off like rock auto? any one have any experience with fitment. i know the grill i got was bad lol. and ive never paid attention but is there a way to tell one if im at the yard. like with the grill its in the lack of the nissan part number and little emblem on the back. thanks all!

Aftermarket fenders are thinner metal and are missing a post nest the corner light.

AND aftermarket fenders never fit right.. its just never lines up as well as factory (which is fine for a race car but not necessarily for a DD of course)

I would say that's the case with most fenders except CAPA certified. Also many aftermarket fenders have similar or even thicker metal than oem. Common misconception because of how the aftermarket used to be.

If you can find rust free oem ones then go for it. Otherwise, as long its CAPA certified, aftermarket is all right.
