Thread: Crankshaft Position Sensor problem please help

I own a 1995 200sx se-R
In 06 I pulled the tranny to replace broken clutch release lever. Shortly after I moved and the car sat pulled apart for a couple years. The tranny is back in and car is running but without the crankshaft sensor. It will not go all the way in. I can hear it hitting metal and it still has around 1/8" left until its in all the way. I believe it is hitting the flywheel.?
When the tranny was out I didnt do anything with the clutch or flywheel and the sensor is the same one that has always been in there. Does anyone know what the problem might be? I dont know why it wont go in now. I have been looking online trying to get any information that will help but have had no luck. Any help is appreciated and very much needed.

What's weird is that the p10 crank sensor sits out about the same amount because its longer than the b14 sensor. If i recall correctly the sensor is mounted in a slighty different place.
