Thread: B14 Tranny problems, NEED HELP!!!

recently my ACT clutch went so i put in a brand new clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, throwout bearing and new clutch cable and now for some reason the car does not want to go into gear, when i still had the front of the car in the air, and had the car running, it was hard to put the car into gear, so when i put it back on the ground, the car didnt want to go into gear at all

anyone know why is doing this?? im cant figure it out

clutch install is wrong or check the two rods that come from the shifter to the trans

going with wrong install though and fyi you dont need to change the pilot bearings on these

What brand did you install?

Blew a clutch spring?

Incorrect clutch cable adjustment or even the TOB clips popped off the fork

i put in a OEM clutch

yeah blew a spring on the ACT clutch



the throw out bearing is in its place but since my car is a b14 and i have a b13 lsd tranny, i put a b13 clutch cable

I have successfully interchanged B13 & B14 cables - as long as they were for the SR. The B14 cable is easier to install as it has a piece of shrink tube to prevent the connection and the pedal from flopping around.

Always replace the clutch release bearing (Throw Out Bearing) clips - they do wear and are relatively inexpensive.

Did you take any pics along the way ???

Are you able to get the car into gear with the engine off ???

Are you 100% sure that the 2 dowel pins that line the trans & engine are installed ??
