Thread: Need Advice!!! Clutch Problems

So me and my brother put in the new clutch and flywheel and put it all back together only to find the clutch pedal to not return after pressing down but we can pull it back out easily. The clutch did not seem to engage at all as I had to force it into gear while car was still jacked up (wheels moved forward correctly after in gear). What could cause this. He thinks that he didnt get the spring thing on the throwout bearing on right or just on at all. Does this sound right?

Did you reconnect the clutch cable?

yea . . . we did lol

okay we figured it out with just a bit of reajusting and custom modification.

What was the re-adjusting and custom modification done?

drilled 2 new holes in the cables bracket and moved it closer to the firewall side. I guess it's a temporary fix to a bad clutch cable.

Was this a puck style clutch or a NON sprung hub disk ?? I know with some of those you have to add to the cable or move the bracket back ....I had to build an extension on both of the non sprung 4 pucks I have done on SR cars ...

It's supposeddly a stage 2 clutch, it's ebay stuff... it looks exactly like the stock one. We'll see how long it lasts...
