Fuel pump question... ?
Today i goto start my car, well the car turns on like the radio and the beeping and the lights work. I didnt hear the fuel pump start up, and the car is 274k miles on it, but the car runs like a charm. I wasnt sure if it was the fuel pump, or the engine has went out. I know sr20s last a long long time, but IF the engine would have died, would the fuel pump still try and run. I'm only asking this because my 03 Maximas ECM went out and the fuel pump didnt start up either that time, wasnt sure if it would have been a bad relay, or fuel pump, or quite possibly the engine died on me * which i dont think is possible for 274k miles :nonchalance:*

Did it try to start at all when you first realized there was a problem? Spit or sputter? Run for a second then die?

This info would help also.

As long as the engine turned over when you engaged the starter the engine is not seized which is good. Pull the back seat and verify that you have 12 volts going to the fuel pump when you first turn the key to the run position and go from there.

With the back seat removed you should easily hear the fuel pump when it starts to prime. If it doesn't make a sound, you could always swap the fuel pump relay with the A/C relay and see if that does it. If not, I would check voltage at the pump. Checking for a spark is always a good idea as well.
