Clean your TB!
Yesterday I picked up a can of throttle body cleaner, removed the intake, and went to town with it and a few old tooth brushes. WOW. what a bunch of nasty black gunk in there. I would spray the cleaner on a tooth brush, get it nice and deep in there, it would come out totally black, then I would respray the brush with the TB cleaner, go back in, and keep repeating the steps until the black gunk disappeared. My 200SX has 182k on it and I suspect this was the 1st TB cleaning.
Upon the first startup, the engine may run a bit rough and some white colored smoke may emanate from the exhaust but it goes away quickly.
Benefits: no more surge & hesitation when the motor is cold, and it appears my MPG has increased a bit.
I still cant believe how much crap was in there. It was so nasssstttyyyyyyyy
