I dont know if you have read this or not, but her it is. This series of articles opened my mind on how to understand suspension dynamics.

The Ultimate Guide to Suspension & Handling

Read from the bottom to the top. As the first article is at the bottom and going up in complexity and understanding.

AGX
Road Magnet
Whiteline Rear Sway
Removed Front Sway (After reading some people say I'll get more oversteer this way although I'm thinking of putting it in back and see the differences)

I've autocrossed my B14 for 11 years, with decent success.I run it in DSP,which is sorta pointless on a national scale, but you can pretty much crush almost anyone on a local level.I do maybe 20-25 events a year, combining local and national events.I would run down the laundry list of suspension mods, but I really don't want to hear people telling me how that won't work, this is wrong etc.Check the autocross section here, and I've posted some video to gawk at.I'll be glad to help with anything you need.

I've read the suspension thread countless times. To be clear, the B14 is not the car I am trying to be competitive with. I only take the B14 when I go with my father to autox so we'll have two cars instead of putting too much stress on the 8. I will also admit that I am an amateur still looking to get better. The SER is my daily and I'd love to get that rear beam bent to see how much better it can really get but no one does it anymore. I'd look into getting strut tower bars as mentioned here and some Dunlop Direzzas for more grip. I'm not here looking to win nationals in the B14.

On my B14, suspension wise I have:

Tein adjustable coilovers (22 way)
adj camber plates
front and rear STB's
16" wheels with 205/40 tires

and for auto-x'ing it handles....

..decent. But nothing outstandingl Maybe I need sway bars and the rear beam bent. But I used to drive my dad's Miata and that thing was sick. I also have a B13 with K-sport coilovers (36 way adjustables), front and rear STB's and skinnier tires, and I think the B13 does a better job.. it just seems to rotate better..

1. Gain negative camber.
Front - Some camber plates! Go a good way negative and have fun.
Rear - Static on B14 due to beam.

2. Correct toe adjustments.
Front - Tierod adjusters
Rear - Static on B14 due to beam

3. Stiffen the rear of the car to make the B14 handle better.

Or loosen the front. (That means do not put stiffer bushings or bars on the front end)

That means no strut bars for the front (or front sway bars, either!)

That means get a rear shock tower bar and get a rear sway bar of some sort or replace the stock bushings with stiffer ones.

Almost forgot I made this thread but I just want to share that I'm pretty satisfied with the B14, again I'm a novice/beginner at autocross. My father is the one who usually runs the b14, but I'll hop in here and there. I have an RX8 that I run.

So the end of last year's autox season, didn't bring the 8 and ran the 200sx for the whole event. This was the only time I've ever ran it for the whole event. At the time, the car had the same setup as I posted above but finally got some kumho ecsta xs for more grip. The car actually "3wheels" to my surprise. Even more shocking I took home first place that day for G class. Now G class doesn't have much competition but I did beat a trailered in MX-5 by .1 sec who does autocross events competitively and to this day always takes first place in G class in motorsportsne. Not the most competitive event, and I'm not saying the b14 outhandles a b13 or p10 but I'm satisfied with it. This year I added white line control arm bushings and replaced worn ball joints and it feels the car rotates much better now but I have yet to run the b14 this year. I might grab ebay rear strut bars as I cant find any other place to get them, there's a few ebay brands but im leaning towards autogrimmig or toys auto.
