Interesting, i will have to check this out. If you get this done let me know or if you can get some detailed info on how i am really interested.

Edit: The guy said "most cars come with some toe out", ours have toe in. I really dont think there is room for adjustment though. The "spindle" comes straight out of the axle and is welded into place.

Do you think that we would go through all the hassle of bending these rear axles if there was an easier way? The B14 axle is a welded one piece structure. Guys at alignment shops that think they can put in shims do not know anything about this car. There are only two people in the entire USA that know how to do the bending. I spent one day working with Steve and it would take me weeks and dozens of cars to learn how to do it as quickly as he does, even if I had the use of his special made tools.

THERE ONLY WAY TO SET THE TOE ON THE REAR AXLE OF THE B14 IS TO BEND IT.

Been there, done that, and it makes a terrific difference in handling.

That is not true at all. I've been working on shims to put in there, and if you do it correctly they can be adjustable, or just solid. They actually don't make shims right now for our cars.

Yes Bending it right now is the easiest way instead of messing around trying to find out a universal shim to be used.

So where do the shims go? I have not tore into the beam at all to even look at it to figure out where they go. It is something i might start monkeying with pretty soon.

Looking at the responses to my beam bending thread in the mid-west i will have to figure something out for myself. I could send the beam in but shipping is expensive and i get a discount through work on freight.

Edit: maybe we should start another thread on this instead of destroying this one.

I agree people typically do what is easy but honestly bending properly is better than shims.

Also anyone that says cars typically come with toe out from the factory needs to be avoided if they meant what they said.

OK that makes sense.
