im begging......please help me
i have a extreamly annoying issue with my 97 ser the tach doesnt work i replaced it once already, can i do any diognostic work to figure out what the electrical issue is does any one no what to look for checked fuses and still nothing please help me:cry

have u replaced the cluster or just the tach? IMO best bet would be to run an aftermarket tach...

check the wiring that goes to the clips behind the dash?

check the grounds with a continuity tester and then go from there. if a ground is corroded somewhere or a tab on the connector is bent, throwing clusters in wont fix it.

i have a aftermarket tach but i want the factory one i have replaced the hole cluster once and still didnt work

and i looked at the clips but dont really no what to look for is it controlled off of the ecu?? is there a way to diagnose if there is a signal coming out of the ecu

what grounds am i looking for and locatations..... can i use a ordinary dc ac meter

as long as the meter has a continuity setting. http://www.firehow.com/images/stories/users/166/digital%20multimeter%20continuity%20test.jpg
it can be a cheap tester, or a good one, it doesnt matter. find a pin-out on the cluster, im sure theres one on the forum, ive found them before for b13s and put se-r clusters in xe models and what not. all you need is a little research and a tester.

check the pin at the ecu...ive seen this be the culprit, i suffered from it once

Thread title is a little dramatic. If you are begging for help you really need to have a child that you have to get to daycare tomorrow or a job you might lose not a tach that is kind of iffy.... just saying.
