Welcome also . Yea what happen to the 510 tell me too ! I have a 71 thats getting closer to my goal. I do inspections in PA and had a hell of a time to get all my monitors to set in my old 96 200sx with a ve swap . I wont tell you what i did shhhhh. Lol. If you drive under 5k miles a year your car is emmission exempt so no plug in test . If you have to do a plug in test with no light on make sure all but two monitors are ready. Thats all the state allows to be not ready on 2001 and older cars. . On my rear o2 sensor i just got spacer of Ebay and placed the o2 out of the exhaust streem and i never had a issue even with the test pipe .

Also i have a great shape head liner for it if your interested and i have a stainless header too and a ton of interior peices . Where you located?

What county do you live in?

I have to ask why trade a 510 for a B14??

Haha...thanks for the welcomes guys. Also...got a few more kills tonight...my favorite being a very cocky Lexus sc300 driver, that, though he had a sexy car, said mine was a POS beater car...to which I aggreed, and, didn't really beat him...but, I'd call it a draw...haha. Either way...he immediately left the area and I didn't see him anymore

Once again, on a private road in Mexico :/

But...as far as the 510...I bought it in pieces and put it back together replacing everything brake related and electrical. It came with a "Great running engine pulled last month" which I installed, and it needed a full rebuild. Ran like crap and kept fouling out plugs due to the large amount of oil it was pouring into the cylinders. Really ticked me off, and after all the work I did to it including all the work I did to that engine, along with the work of installing the engine, when it ended up being bad I was fed up with it and wanted it gone.

So...I traded it to a guy who's going to swap it and restore it.

I'm going to be completely honest, I traded him with full intentions of getting this car and selling it (figured it'd be much easier to sell then a rusty Datsun), but...after driving it around here lately...might just keep it a while Nothing is more priceless then the look on someone's face when they get walked by a sportified Sentra...hahaha. As it was with my Neon SRT4...Neon if you beat it...srt4 if you lost to it...
these are a Sentra if you beat it or a 200sx SE-R if you lose to it...lol

But, here's a pic of the Datsun. My plan was to put it together, slam it, and daily drive it...but...I, being a college student, didn't have the money to rebuild the engine, so...that killed it for me...so, the deal of a running/driving car was great for me. Plus, both carry about the same value.

Anyway...the Datsun...

Also...I live in Hell County....York. We have emissions and inspection here. I have a feeling I'm going to be ballsy and drive around without it for awhile. Also, the previous owner removed the Check Engine Light altogether, so...not sure it would pass alone, based on that. But, I'm wondering if I were to plug the egr back in and leave it unhooked if it would read correct enough to shut the light off. And, as for the rear o2...for some reason he cut the wire :/ But, I know on my Jeep, I left the o2 hanging in the fresh air and it reads as if the cat is working beautifully...not sure if that works with these.

Nice the 510 didnt look that bad of shape . Mine had a rotted out trunk floor and front fenders . All that is taken care of.
As far as your se-r .. boost it or swap a ve motor then you will be shocked how fast it is. The stock de motor can take the abuse . Some say up to 400hp on the bottom end. A basic t25 set up @ 10psi will get you about 220whp'ish . That should eat some srt4's with bolt ons. My freinds 95ser went 12.6 on a stock de with a t25 . And the motor had 170k miles .
If na is your thing then a sr20ve is the awnser . A ve motor with sr16 cams and a tune should make between 180-200 . Never had my 96 ve swapped dynoed but it had no problems eating si's all day with just cams, ebay ssac header, and a basic tune .

Turbo set up should run you about $1k between the ecu, turbo+manifold, down pipe ,injectors , walbro fp , and intercooler set up . Used parts ofcourse.

The ve swap will set you back approx $1.5k between motor ,header , vvl controller ,ecu ,cams .

Yea it was on drag radials @ 10psi and trapped 106 . My b13 went 13.019 @ 110 on street tires spinning threw begining of third and a crappy 235 60ft. On slicks i should have run 12.5 easily on slicks . That motor was just a stock det with s3 cams and gt2560 (t25 ball bearing) @ 8 psi. It dont take much to get these into the 12's . Cheap speed in my opinion .

Wow...yeah, thats pretty quick...haha. And, I honestly don't know if I just got a good engine here or what...as I said, I've had some quick cars in the past and this one feels low 14s high 13s to me. Not sure how possible that is n/a without any actual engine work (just bolt ons)...but, its strong.

And, as far as selling it...its one of those things, I have it set for a high book price, if someone buys it, they buy it, if they don't.....well I'll just have some fun a little longer...haha. Also, no offense to anyone here, but I hate FWD...thats why I got rid of my SRT4 and got the 510...I love RWD, thats what I've always had and theres no fun like steering with the throttle pedal
I mean, the SRT4 was a good time and was very quick (mine wasn't stock, had "mystery" mods...hahaha), but, wasn't exactly what I was looking for. They sure handle great and feel very stable at 145mph though, unlike other cars I've had. My Starion being one of them...as aerodynamic as they look, they start getting squirrely at high speeds.

But, how are the ebay setups? I know its chinese crap, but, I know a lot of people run ebay turbos without issues, and a lot of people just rebuild them with Garret parts and they have a great turbo for cheap. But, for $500 for the complete kit, just need the ecu at that point.

Also...the 510 had sheetmetal screwed in floorboards and a holey trunk...needed quarters, passengers fender, and some engine bay work...though I did repaint the engine bay, I just treated the rust holes and painted over them. It was supposed to be kinda a rat rod project, had a perfect interior and a nice looking engine bay, was going to be slammed and left looking ratty on the outside and driven......but, as I said, the engine thing killed it. I actually feel I got ripped off, and whats sad is it was by a very respected member of the Datsun community who told me "sometimes that's how it turns out with used engines." Which is true, but, he said he saw and heard it run and that it was a great running engine, and sold it to me as so....rings don't degrade in a months time of sitting under a tarp. But, in case anyone was wondering, $2500 for that car apart, plus all the parts I put on it and my time putting it together.

EDIT: First off...sorry for the novel...lol Secondly, got a carpet out of the junkyard, but, need a non-sunroof headliner as mine has been removed and welded shut. Will a 4 door headliner work?

PLEASE READ the suspension thread by Shawn before you put in those 2" drop springs. Also, although the engine is really tough, the stock transmission is only good to about 220-230 HP. There are fixes for that, if you want to spend the time and $$$.
