exhaust ?

ok i have a sr20ve with a top speed header that has a 2.5" off of the downpipe. should i go 2.5" all the way back? or go from 2.5" to 3" all the way back? is it mostly prefernce? of will get a lil more power and better exhaust flow if u go from 2.5" to 3", would like a 3" muffler but thoughts opinions, facts. thanks
