Thread: 200sx SE-R Factory Alarm and Keyless Entry

I bought my '97 SE-R a year ago and when I first got it when the door was open the hazards would go off, I couldn't get it to go off so I figured he had an aftermarket alarm in it and when I investigated I found a couple nitro alarm system modules? I took all the aftermarket stuff out and now I have a feeling that the stock keyless and alarm won't work because I've tried putting the key in the ignition and taking it out 6 times in 10 seconds and the hazards wouldn't turn on. Anyway I want the factory keyless and alarm to work with a FOB so I need to know how to get it working knowing that it had an aftermarket alarm system when I got it? Is there a wiring diagram that I should cross reference and re-wire if necessary?

1. Enter vehicle, close and lock all doors using power lock switch on drivers door.

2. Insert and remove (do not turn) key from ignition at least 6 times within 10 seconds.
Tail lamps will flash to indicate original code has been erased.

3. Insert and turn key to ACC position.

4. Press LOCK on first keyless remote. Tail lamps will flash to confirm programming.

5. To add additional remotes, unlock then lock the doors using power lock
switch on drivers door.

6. Press LOCK button on second keyless remote. Tail lamps will flash to confirm
programming.

7. Open drivers door, turn ignition to OFF..

Follow that EXACTLEY. Otherwise it will fail.

Also on some vehicles you have to very slightly turn the key in the ignition.

Not enough to click in accessories or anything thought.

I pulled an aftermarket alarm out, may be a dumb question but I think this would effect the stock keyless? Anyone by any chance have a wiring diagram for the keyless or know if the factory keyless should still be in tact? Also is it normal for the security light on the tach to blink when the car isn't on?

I am revisiting this topic, anyone have any pointers on where I should start? I REALLY want keyless working

I have been unable to find an FSM that shows a wiring diagram for the factory keyless, I don't know where the module is for this either, anyone have any input?

Did you check the fuses and relays on the stock system to be sure they didnt pull anything?

I can double check where are all the fusible links and relays for the stock alarm? Did your 200 have keyless Dan?

Yep, sel has it to, and my se-l's giving me issues with the damn inhibitor function. Keeps draining my battery, yet i cant pull the relays or the car wont start...pisses me off.
