Thread: 50/50 tail lights on a 200sx??

Yea it's not like the maxima tails u have to cut the yellow out and some how glue the clear on to it

As far as the led's go, I'm going to try to make something like this.

Got the lenses off the housings today. That was fun. I got plenty of red, amber, and white led's. Also got plenty of resistors and stuff .Just need to get some boards now. I was thinking of making a sequential pattern in the turn signals, but I'll have to read up on how to wire that up first.

I think at some point, I'll start a thread to show my progress.

Make the turn signals like the newer Mustangs, flashes from inner to outer.

That's pretty much what I had in mind. From what I've been reading though, the pattern you can use is nearly endless as far as choices.



Just soldering and wiring the led's is easy. Now, as far as the the controllers and everything related to moving patterns, that's a different story. I still have some self-education to do before I can implement that. As soon as I can get a prototype I'm happy with, I'll make a "how to" thread for everyone. I could also piece together pre-fabbed kits for the DIY people, or maybe even work something out where I can sell finished units. Not sure yet. Just have to see how everything will pan out.

So after a little thought on how to do the red and white tail light lenses, it looks like the best way to do it is to cut and form a new piece of clear plastic. Not too sure where I would be able to source plastic that has the same diffuser pattern to match. Junkyard tail light housings maybe? Maybe I could (flame suit on) use the clear pieces from a Civic, like the picture posted on the first page? If they are about the same size, they could be formed to fit the 200SX lens. I'll keep looking for different plastic that has a diffuser pattern to match. The search continues......
