Thread: tail lights problem

my boy has a 98 200sx ser and he has a problem with his tallights, when he steps on the brake, the tallights go on for a second and shut off and he still has his foot on the brake, what can he do to fix this?

the tail light switch could be loose....check all the pressure switches by the peddal

does it happen predictably? I'd start with your pressure switch and grounds. Make sure it's all clean and clear on connections, including the bulb sockets. If it still persists, trace the power supply and check all the fuses, relays, and connections as you make your way from the battery to the switch. It's likely something simple, but going through a consistent and thorough method will get you your answer.
