Thread: Dist. Cap question

i have 96 200SX SE-R w/ a euro sr20de in it and i was wondering which cap i should get for my msd. the guy i bought the car from said he usally gets parts for a 92 NX2K but that cap didnt work. i need a cap for an external coil..help me out plz!

The 92 NX2K has an external coil, so it's distributor cap should have worked. Do you have pics of the old one?

Yea, NX2000 cap should be what you need , unless you are running a '96 Distribitor that has been converted to an external coil ...?? Make sure the cap you got wasnt for an NX1600 ...

well the cap on there right now isnt external coil...i need one that is external for my blaster 2 coil.ill take pics of what is on there now

i also have a dist. from my jdm swap...maybe that cap will work? it has an external coil

I have a related question. I would like to replace my cap and rotor on my '97 200SX SE-R and it seems there are two different designs depending on, I'm guessing, the production date. Does anyone have more information about this?
