B14 Intercooler piping - motor questions
Im helping my friend start a motor swap in a B14 , Ive done a swap on a obd1 p10 but nothing on an obd2 B14 . We are looking into getting a w10 or w11 avenir motor with wiring harnes and maybe ECU. We want to go the cheapest route possible and to start off will go the stock route and want to do a FMIC set up here are my questions :

Would you recommend a stock Avenir ECU to start off or go with a Calum or JWT set up ?

Wheres a good source for intercooler piping or any B14 kits exist or should I go with some summit mandrel bent piping ?

Is It easier to complete the swap with or with out the Avenir wiring harness ?

Any motor mount modifications needed ?

Anyone who would care to chime In I appreciate It and thank you for steering me in the right direction , sorry for the noob questions But I kinda fell off the performance route and went show

1. Get a Calum RT
2. VRSexhaust.com i think has some good prices
3. If you have the stocl B14 wire harness just use it
4. Yes, contact Serban he has all the mounts u need

So stock B14 harness is good and dont need to purchase one with the motor ? I decided to go with the W10 Avenir motor by the way ....

the harness from the W10 wont hook up to your underdash plugs anyway. just use the stock harness and ecu. you might have to lenghten some of the plugs for the engine or something of the sort.

All that is with a Calum or JWT ECU, Avenir W10 ECU wont bolt up to B14 harness

So I send my ECU to Calum or JWT ... So just to confirm a w10 ECU " blue plug " will not work with a B14 right ? Because I was about to buy one and need confirmation on this .... Can I use a OBD2 ECU from a P10 or P11 and get that reprogrammed ? The B14 is a daily driver and I need the least amount of down time ....

do not use the ecu from a W10. Get a P10 ODB2 and yes calum and jwt can reprogram it. You will get more downtime from JWt than Calum
