GM 9985648 spec happens to be alot like GL-4. I used it 10 years ago in B15 and have a little mixed in on the miata right now to make a good blend.

Kind of afraid of ruining a good P11 trans, even though it's only the wife's car

How is it going to ruin it? GL-5 is not yellow metal safe and that is the only way it does any damage to a synchro transmission.

Well problem is Penzoil Syncromesh doesn't quite meet GL-4 specs either, so it might have issues with some transmissions. Might work just fine in ours though. I need MT90 for my p11, so I'll just order 8 quarts.

i'm about to get 8 also, for my NX and my GFs b14 ga16. Where do you order from these days? I remember there used to be a great site for like 8 bucks per quart...

You put the specs side by side?

I thought when I checked the GM spec was better than GL-4 in all aspects, but it has been years.
