Same here. They usually go bad in the engine bay before 3 years so its free for a new one. I have mine in a box in the trunk so well see how long it lasts

I've heard from various system installers that Optimas are not the same build quality as 5-10 years ago. I wonder if thats still the case.

I have the duralast gold batteries with the 3 year warranty in both my car and my truck. It's nice to be able to just trade it in for a brand new battery if it goes bad, no questions asked.

Autozone didnt have any optima batterys at all actually, so I decided to pick up a duralast gold battery. So far so good, and the 3 year warranty is nice to have too.

I recently had a battery go dead. It was an old Duralast and it lasted about 11 years. I have the invoice from when the old owner had it installed. I sell Interstate batteries at my shop so naturally I got a good deal. I am about to replace my 2nd MT-35 in the past 6 months. Sure they are free (free replacement warranty) but I really just want another good battery.

On a note about Interstate it is really only the MT-35s I have had an issue with.
