Cluster Problem
So I bought a cluster off a forum member and went out to install it. When I first recieved it, the rpm needle was flipped back past 9k rpm so I flipped the cluster itself over until it came back down to 0. I went into my car, plugged up everything. As soon as I gave the car contact only, the mph needle jumped to 20mph and the rpm needle jumped to 1k rpm. When I turn the car on, the needle goes up to around 3k rpm on cold start and eventually goes down to 2k rpm when warm. The mph needle remains at the 20mph mark. Is there any way I can correct or fix it?

Take off the plastic cover and move the needles to where they need to be?

Sounds like the original owner detached the needles and just put them back wherever.

WTFF!!! Thats crazzyyyy. I never took the needles of and if so you could just move them like someone said^. It was spot on in my car. All I did was change the mileage for you but I don't see how that would affect it?

Yeah, I tried opening it up and pushing the needles back to the right spot but as soon as I give contact, they jump right up to the points that I said it jumps to.

Pull them off and move them then put them back?

Do I put the needles back to 0, then pry them off or does it not matter at what point there on to pry them off?

You can also check the cluster on the bench to see if it might be a resistance issue with your car's ground system.
