New Suspension
Soon I will be running Tein Basics on my 98' SE-R. It's a DD and I was
wondering if I would need to run Pillow Ball Mounts even though I'm
not going to do any Auto Cross or anything close to that ?
And for people who do have Tein Basics how do they ride comfort wise?

What is your opinion comfort wise compared to stock?

I have a '98 Se-R and I have had the Tein SS on 2 B14s now (my first one got wrecked and I swapped them over to my new one.) I have the front and rear pillowball upper mounts and it really made a difference over stock. The steering is really crisp and VERY responsive. Fun stuff.

Comfort wise you wont feel too much of a difference. I had prothanes on my old B14 and I couldnt tell the difference (car vibrated like an old rusted out mustang with the prothanes anyway). My new B14 has stock motor mounts and it came with the KYB/GC combo..... when I swapped the Tein suspension over it was actually much more comfortable.

However this is my experience on the Tein SS and I usually have them at a very soft setting for daily driving. 2 up front 1 in the rear out of 16. Rides smoother than stock (which i had for 4 years on my wrecked B14 before switching to the Teins) I dont know about the Tein Basics. I have yet to ride in a B14 equipped with the Basics. So YMMV.

In the end.... GET THEM WITH the pillowball upper mounts!! But thats just my opinion.

the car feels great to me...it is a lil bit firmer than stock....but you wont lose any teeth over it. cars feel sportier. its the perfect balance to me

Last time I checked the price difference between type basics + pillowball mounts vs super streets the price was just about the same. I made the mistake of going cheap with the type basics, just finding out after that my stock mounts were shot. Long story short, get the super streets for just a little bit more, and enjoy the adjustible dampining!!!!!
