Thread: Gauge light wiring

When I first wired up the backlights for my gauges, I made the mistake of following the instructions verbatim and used the +12 for the parking lights.

I changed all my interior lights to led's, and now the gauge lights are blinding. Is it possible to tap into the circuit for the dash lights so the gauge lights will be controlled by the dimmer with everything else? Or would it be safe to just tie into the dimmer switch?

wattage is to low to run on dimmer (and actually have the dimmer do anything other than make them flicker),

there may be a way to run a resistor inline and get the dimmer to work. google led dimmer. you'd have to be sure that everything run from that dimmer is rated similarlly and you'd probably have to do a little math.
