Thread: car wont start.. fuel pump??

ight ive been trying to figure out wats wrong with my 200 for the week.. i turned it off and then it didnt start.. i checked all the fuzes and they all check out good.. no sound from the pump pressure gauge not budging and and i undid the fuel rail hose to see if fuel would pump out while the car is trying to start and nothingg... so im thinking fuel pump....
is there another fuse or anything behind the dash that would hinder the pump from turning on?

If the fuel pump is dead, it usually shows symptoms for some time before it finally goes. Usually manifested in *really* hard starts.

the car was starting fine b4 this issue...

is your starter atleast turning the motor over or nothing at all? your batt have proper power? try to list other symptoms, might help a little better.

also not trying to say your an idiot, but do you have fuel? maybe your gauge took a crap, quite possibly why you may not be getting fuel and/or pressure

i have the same problem. car will crank but will not turn over. im starting to think it is the fuel pump for my car too. if im wrong then i dont know what it could be. ps my starter, alternator and distributor works fine.

distributor..thats what was wrong with my car..

b4 when the car would not start (when it was my plugs)
i atleast got some kinda fuel pressure and fuel sprayed out of the hose when the ignition was being cranked....
i have enough fuel to get the car started and the starter is good batt is good.. im just trying to see if me not having any fuel pressure could mean fuel pump went bad.. also.. when this b4 it started the whole non starting problem there was a lil bit of smoke comming from behind the dash/.

nobody got any imput?

have u checked to see if theres power at the fuel pump ? i would start there

smoke from behind the dash?? have youve been messing with any wires to cause a short or fry the ecu?
