Removal ideas. Broken vc bolt
I just broke the #13 valve cover bolt off into its thread housing. So 3/4 of the thread is stuck. Before I go and do anything stupid. Any one have any ideas on getting it out. I have thought of drilling it out with a small bit, but reall don't think that's a real smart move. Just want to check. I'll move on to something else for now. Thanks

I used a tiny punch to center, then a tiny bit with a low speed drill. Then backed it out with a left handed drill bit. Good luck! Take your time and it'll come right out.

Tap set? Your going to rethread it? If you have a harbor freight tools near you if not you car order it online they have left hand thread drill bits and screw extractors which cost under $10 a set, I used them on snapped rusted header bolts and got them out no problem

I do have a harbor freight within a mile of the house. I bought a 12 piece rigid screw extractor set, I'm in no rush but want to resolve it while it's having work done to it. I'll go back and get the left hand bit set.

Is this the one you are talking about as far as left hand goes?

Going go back in the next few days to get the rest of what I need. Ordered the new bolt/screw today from the dealer. Thanks
