Thread: Steering wheel

Hey guys....


I have a problem and need a lil help.


Since like 3months ago, my steering wheel started to do some noises from inside (like a cowbell) i didnt put too much atention cus later driving it stoped.

Now its always, i know for sure that something was loose, but i dont know how to dismember my wheel ...

Im kindish diy but, when i tried to disarm it, i couldnt do it .


Do anyone has done this?

I had a bad rattling in my wheel. It turned out to be the weight that dampers the vibration in the wheel broke and rattled against the main nut. I just removed it.

What do you mean by disarm it?

take it out of the column.

take out the center, open it to see whats inside.

its really anoying that sound, and the worse thing is that now when im turning the claxon sounds ):

I'm not sure how far you've been able to go. So I'll start from the beginning.
Disconnect battery for some time.

To remove airbag: remove the two side panels with a little flat head and unscrew the CC buttons. You will then be able to remove the torx screws. I'm not sure the size torx.

The airbag will then slide off once you unclip it. The steering wheel nut can now be removed.

i imagine i have to do the airbag removal with the battery disconected right?

To be on the safe side you might want to pull the fuse for the airbag too, as well as disconnect the battery. Just don't forget to put it back in before you re-connect the battery.

You'll need a t50 security torx bit (make sure it has the hole in the middle) to remove airbag.

its called a T50H. I know for sure Sears has a set. I'm still looking for a socket set i can keep in the tool bag.
