I have this problem as well. No intermittent speed and the wipers just stop wherever you turn the switch off. I swapped the motor out for a junkyard one and it still did it. I'm guessing its the switch now, but it dosen't make sense because you can hear the relay click when the switch is on intermittent, the wipers just won't move.

Just so everyone knows: There is a wiper recall on all 200sx's 95-97. If you call up your local dealer they will set you up with an appointment and take care of any wiper issue!

EXACTLY WHAT DONSHOU SAID IS WHAT FIXED THE PROBLEM

I GOT THE WIPER AMP FROM 96 GXE AND IT WORKED FINE.. STOPPED THE PROBLEM
IT IS BEHIND GLOVE BOX UP LOCATED BEHIND DASH DIRECTLY UNDER PASSENGER AC VENT

VERY EASY FIX AN THE WIPER AMP BOX WAS 4$

$4 at the dealer? I've got to try that since I guess I've been getting bad ones from the junk yard because the 3 I have did nothing for the car, still stops in the middle or wherever (just replaced the motor too)

Good to know about that recall!

My 97 doesn't have the issue where the blades don't return all the way down. However, last week sometime the wipers just randomly started turning on with the switch in the off position? They still work in each position when I use the switch, but it's like whenever the switch is in the off position, they will randomly turn on like they are in the on position and will operate like this for a good 15 seconds and then stop again.

I haven't checked much yet, just pulled the fuse for the time being since the car doesn't get driven in the rain anyways. I'm guessing it is either a bad ground, bad amp box, or bad switch. What do you guys think?

4 $ at junkyard and i grab more then one at times.. it doesnt need to be for a coupe all wiper amps are the same so i house all of the gxe's its justs a mission to get too but reliatively easy when youve done it once

Weird that this is up. Mine started doing this in the past few months. Barely notice it

So it is just a fuse tweaking?
