Discouraged with prothane mount install
I know I'm heading in the right direction, but I guess I need to be reassured of my work. After two hours of non stop pounding. The pics show how far I got. I know the pass side mount is harder to take out, but after two straight hours of blunt force trauma I am discouraged. I cannot see a difference from the old mount and the mount housing because of all the chewed metal. Here are the reference pics.
I have used screw drivers and chisels and followed how the too's from my search. I plan on looking for smaller fatter chisels today. I tried pounding inward and that only popped a hole in the metal (as seen in the pics) thinking then that I could start working my way towards the center. Thus giving me more room to keep pounding it out. How long has this taken any of you to do. Any info/help/words of encouragement? Thanks
