Thread: 200sx SE-R wont go into gear?!

so i was driving my 200sx today and i felt the clutch pedal pop when i pushed it in. it went into gear fine, but when i came to a stop and went to put it in first..it wouldnt go in gear. my friend thinks my clutch cable broke, but when you push the clutch in, the arm on the tranny still moves...anyone have any ideas what it could be?!

How far does it move?

If the cable really isn't broken, next thing would be the clutch actuator arm. It might be broken at the fulcrum, or it could be the tabs that push against the throw out bearing inside the bell housing that snapped.

i forgot to mention that it goes in gear when the car is off, but when the motor is running, it wont do ****, i can slam it in reverse, but then it just stalls out. i'd say the arm still moves about an inch, maybe a lil more/less. and i have a feeling its something actually broken inside the case..which is what im worried about. i guess im going to tow it to my friends and pull the tranny. i have a spare trans, but the one in the car now had a welded case and a cryo-treated gear stack, which is why i dont want to replace it unless i have to...

Youre gears are probably fine stop worrying your N/A LOL

Im going to say its probably your T/O bearing or the fork (mine ****ed up on me on my previous car)

Now that youre dropping the tranny is the time to upgrade flywheel and clutch ! =)

not worried about my gears at all..i know they are fine

and i already have a act street/strip clutch and a OEM flywheel thats been turned to shave some weight

i doubt its my t/o bearing..possibly my fork...i just dont have time for this ****. im supposed to be selling it saturday, but i dont guess thats gunna happen now.

This just happened to me. My clutch broke haha ACT HD Street Disk. Pull the tranny and you'll see this...

Likethemovies when did you get that act ? they had problems with their sprung clutches that they supposedly fixed. Unsprung is the way to go.

And unsprung will eat trannies like no other.
