Paint The Bay?????
well im cleaning up my 97 and preping the bay for a DET. the car is white and i want to paint the bay primer grey or should i leave it white????

You can't leave it primer. It's gonna look ghetto. Whatever you do, make sure you clean it GOOD, and scuff all the surfaces your going to paint

repaint it white, remove all the crap and prep it good, i just did mine in the NX, cost me about $150 with paint and supplies
i agree dont just primer it

If you just primer it it will not only look like doo doo, but it will not be easy to clean as the primer will just catch and hold any grease or dirt.

ah good points, iv painted a bay before(in my 240) and i did like it and at the same time i didnt
so its a toss up on what ill do

Paint it, when I did mine I did it body color. it looks so much better when done

Like everybody says clean it up REALLY good. I painted my flat black and it came out good (My car is black). I've seen some folks with white, red, or gray cars painting their engine bays flat black also.
