Maxima Brakes and GA15 question
I just bought a 1997 Sunny Super Saloon (B14) with 5 speeed manual, AWD and a GA15DE which will be my daily driver. I'm new to working on Nissans and on a budget. I'm looking to do a few easy upgrades before I try some of the intense stuff (like an SR18 or SR20 swap).
So here are a few questions for the forum:
I've read on a couple of forums that the rear rotors and calipers from a 95-98 Maxima/Cefiro will bolt onto the rear of a B14 by just redrilling the rotors. Will the front rotors and calipers work the same way?
How big of a difference in handling would I see with a set of coilovers versus just a good set of aftermarket springs or springs and good shocks? The price difference is pretty huge and I just wonder if coilovers are worth it for a car that isn't going to be doing a lot of racing.
I'd like to fix the stance a little. I'm looking for lower but not slammed. What's a good number to shoot for 1.5", 2", front, back? How about a good wheel tire combo? I'm not looking to go bigger than 17 or 18. Example pix of your ride with your numbers listed would help.
What's the biggest diameter of a tire and wheel combo that will fit in the stock B14 wheel well? If the total diameter is bigger than stock, how do you recalibrate the speedo?
Does anybody sell a battery relocation kit for the trunk or should I just build one myself?
What are the best bang for your buck suspension and engine mods for the B14? I'd like to know how to prioritize my limited budget - about $1000 right now.
Sorry for the noob questions but my regular projects in the states are 60s Detroit iron. Thanks in advance.
