M1 is group 3 like almost all the other oils listed on this thread. Off the top of my head the group 4 (true synthetic) oil are RP, Redline, Enos, Amsoil, and German Castrol.
Mobil1 is still a good oil just way overpriced compared to other good oils on the market. I myself use walmart supetech filters and walmart supertech synthetic 5-30. It's group 3 just like M1. It's worked great for me and I've been running it for a long time now.
